
The last rays of the sun are captured in the snowflake grass florescence shaded in pink and apricot, creating a beautiful soft contrast against their golden stalks on the darkening horizon. A dry wild seringa offers the ideal safe communual roosting spot for some amur falcons to rest their weary wings after traveling from eastern China, a long and tiresome journey over the sea. Their frail, but yet built for endurance and speed little bodies’ outline the tree – creating a picturesque scene.
In the west an orange sickle-shaped moon makes its appearance slowly rising above the horizon and gradually turns into the most beautiful silver – crowning the African night sky. As the day is greeted with darkness, the stars become more prominent showing off their radient brilliance. All adding to the natural ambiance the bush has to offer.
Back at the lodge hungry flames devour the dry wood. A warm welcome with towels and Amarula welcomes the guests back from their game drive. After the morning game drive, big blue-grey thunder clouds are rounded up by a breeze on the horizon. From the deck faded colours in a distance indicate the rain’s progress. On the plains antelope stand head down with their backs facing the downpour of rain. Large drops fall on the canopy of trees and trickles down their rough bark to the sandy soil. Little rundowns are formed as drops gather and become a way of transporting nutrient rich particles to the bottom parts of the hills.
The bush is transformed into a clean and bright wonderland with many different colour shades. Dark blue skies together with the bright green trees and yellow grassy plains with antelope and giraffes make the most striking pictures and memories.
